Welp....I did it. I outed myself. I am ready for the slings and arrows I think. The following is my "profile" on one of my newer stock photo sites:
My work tends to focus on emotional portraiture of unusual subjects and objects. I would like to think my photography has more of an artistic bent, than commercially oriented. I show in galleries a few times a year.
Commercially, I focus on interiors, images of acupuncture and other medical topics, and architecture.
I have been a photographer for 10 years, and still learn something new every time I pick up a camera.
I am also the former creative Creative Director (The Reviewer) of Shutterstock. Feel free to site mail me for critique.
I quit my job at Shutterstock in December. I really did love it there in so many ways, but some medical conditions and my need to grow as a photographer helped make my decision, and I think it was a good one.
The medical issue is almost resolved. I had some major back surgery a couple weeks ago and have to be in a brace for a month and a half more.....then......katie bar the door, I will be a picture shooting, class taking fool. (Fool is the operative word.) I also have a trip to Europe planned in September. Everything is new. This is a fresh start for me, and I am over joyed by it.
Wanna see my neck?
Inwardly be free of all hopes and desires, but outwardly do what needs to be done. Without hopes in your heart, live as if you were full of hopes. Live with your heart now cool and now warm, just like everyone else. Inwardly give up the idea "I am the doer," yet outwardly engage in all activities. This is how to live in the world, completely free from the least trace of ego.
